P.A.S.S. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am enrolled in a Financial Accounting course and I know that it will be my hardest class this fall.  What should I do?

A. Go to the PASS (Plymouth Academic Support Services) office in the lower level of Lamson library and ask for an appointment to request an individual tutor for that subject.

2. I had an IEP (Individual Educational Plan) in high school and I was able to have extended time on exams.  Can I receive support services at PSU?

A:  Yes, go to the PASS office in Lamson and make an appointment to meet with Jan Carlson or Sue Keefe. They will explain the process of support services at the university level.

Q: I would like to go to the PASS office, but my budget is limited and I can’t spend any extra money.  Will I need to pay for PASS services?

A: You will pay no additional money for services received through PASS, including tutoring, since those services are paid for through your tuition costs and a federal grant. Be a good consumer and take advantages of all available services.

Q:  I sometimes struggle with reading my textbooks. Can the PASS office help me with this?

A: Yes, the PASS office has a Kurzweil text to speech software program which can scan your textbook so that you can listen to it being read to you through your computer.

Q: I have problems with staying organized and often miss deadlines and assignments. What should I do?

A:. Go to the PASS office and ask for an appointment with the Undergraduate Fellow who can help you work on organizational skills and time management.
