is an alum who graduated from PSU recently with a Bachelor's in Political Science and a minor in Women's Studies. Maya finds that the women studies minor was very encompassing to her political science interest: Women in World Politics and Women in Contemporary America. Maya did an Independent Study entitled Women in Comparative Politics. Maya first became interested in Women's Studies at a very young age at the hands of her mother's enthusiastic involvement; her interests were further encouraged by the council members as they recruited her as a student representative. Soon after she took part in organizing AWARE (a student group supporting women) and was the proud recipient of the POWA award of 2004. Maya truly adored her three years as a student representative on the council!
