S.A.F.E is a student driven educational group that’s mission is to  educate against and raise awareness around  issues of violence on our campus.  This group consists of Plymouth State University students and staff members who have been professionally trained around issues of violence prevention. 

     Take a look at the program codes below.  These letters symbolize what program works best with what age group.

What’s Love Got To Do With IT?

 This interactive program will offer participants the tools needed to detect a  potentially abusive relationship, create a better understanding of the dynamics that exist in unhealthy relationships and explore the formation of healthy relationships.  C/H/T

 

Sex Signals: Red, Green or In Between?

Does NO really mean NO? This candid program filled with excitement, humor and awareness will offer participants a chance to talk openly and honestly about dating, sex and the potential dangers of date rape. C/H/T

 

Flirting or Hurting?

Hey Baby! Nice Butt!  Is this flirting or harassment?  This provocative  program creates the opportunity for students to explore the differences between flirting and sexual harassment while figuring out how to protect themselves from and discourage this type of behavior.  C/H/T 

   

Picture This…

You wake up groggy and disoriented.  The last thing you remember is being at a party with friends.  You think you may have been sexually assaulted but are having a hard time remembering the last several hours. 

Did you drink too much or were you given a date rape drug?  Come find out what to look for and how to reduce your risks. C/T

 

Changin’ Traditions?

What is Hazing? Is it a big deal?  In this program the participants develop an understanding of hazing laws, risks, effects and alternatives.  C/H/T

 

Resisting The Riot

This presentation creates an opportunity for students to talk openly about ways to resist possible riots, consequences when involved with riots and the laws that help prevent riotous behavior.  C/H/T

 

Why Won’t You Leave Me Alone...Stalking 101

Are you dealing with someone who just wont leave you alone?  Unwanted calls, gifts and e-mails?  This interactive presentation will help students identify possible stalking behaviors, provide them with useful tools to protect  themselves against this behavior and inform them of resources that are available in case they need assistance.  C/H/T

 

Beyond The Books...

A theatrical extravaganza that brings critical awareness to campus life.  Using eight interactive vignettes, this program touches on the realities of alcohol, parties, dating, sex, hazing, riots and much, much more.  A great summary of all programs listed throughout this brochure.  C/T
