25th Annual Piano Monster Festival

PLYMOUTH, N.H. (March 28, 2017)- Sign up for this years Piano Monster Festival! Students currently taking piano lessons in grades 5-12 are welcome to register. Details below.

Junior Piano Monster FestivalSenior Piano Monster Festival

The Junior Piano Monster Festival June 24-27, 2017 is open to students currently taking piano lessons and completing grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. The daily activities will be held in the Silver Center for the Arts.

Pianists will:

• perform in multi-piano ensembles under a conductor;
• experience the excitement of teamwork;
• participate in a percussion ensemble and sing in the Festival Chorus;
• stay in a PSU residence hall with counselors

Apply for the festival online of by mail:
1. Don’t wait—visit go.plymouth.edu/pianomonster/junior to register and pay online. To register and pay by mail, complete the attached application with appropriate signatures.
2. From the four groups (levels) of works to be performed, teachers should choose one group appropriate to the student’s ability. Each student must perform all pieces within the chosen group. Students are encouraged to choose a group level below their solo performing level.
3. Rank the order of your preferences for the Music Specialty Classes.
4. The postmark deadline is April 5, 2017, or until all parts are filled. The remaining tuition of $340 must be postmarked before June 1, 2017. 5. Acceptance and assigned parts are on a first-come registration basis. Notification of acceptance and performance assignments will be sent by the end of April.

The Senior Piano Monster Festival June 28- July 1, 2017 is open to students currently taking piano lessons and completing grades 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. The daily activities will be held in the Silver Center for the Arts.

Pianists will:

• perform in multi-piano ensembles under a conductor;
• experience the excitement of teamwork;
• stay in a PSU residence hall with counselors;
• attend three specialty classes each day.

1. Don’t wait—visit go.plymouth.edu/pianomonster/senior to register and pay online. To register and pay by mail, complete the attached application with appropriate signatures.
2. From the two groups (levels) of works to be performed, teachers should choose one group appropriate to the student’s ability. Each student must perform all pieces within the chosen group. Students are encouraged to choose a group level below their solo performing level.

The Digital Keyboard Orchestra groups will perform at the final concert. The percussion and vocal ensembles will perform at either the participant recital or the final concert.
