  1. Identify and describe examples of regional environmental science and policy issues 
  2. Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative environmental science or environmental policy research and report findings to peers in the field 
  3. Explain what it means to work professionally as a team member on an applied environmental science and policy project 
  4. Engage in field techniques to better understand ecosystems 
  5. Appreciate the need to integrate the natural sciences (biology, geology, chemistry, and physics) and the social sciences to effectively study and manage ecosystems
