In the Psychology Department, students may be offered course credit for participation in research studies. The amount of points to be earned in a particular class is decided by the instructor. Students are encouraged to consult their instructors and relevant course syllabi as necessary. No student will be penalized for not participating in research. All instructors that offer course credit for research participation also offer alternative assignments for those students who would rather not participate. All grading is consistent with PSU’s Fair Grading Policy. All questions regarding the ethical treatment of human participants should be directed to PSU’s Institutional Review Board.
