David Poulin ’85

David is a Senior Vice President, Senior Investment Management Consultant, and member of the Business Owner Executive Council at The Bay Colony Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. He is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) from the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA). David began his career as a corporate sales consultant for national computer reseller Businessland, Inc. He changed careers in 1990 and moved to the financial services industry, starting out as a financial advisor at Lehman Brothers in Boston, MA, where he worked with private company owners and executives.

Now focusing exclusively on small and middle-market business owners, David advises clients on reducing their personal and business risk, building their business’ value, and transitioning that value to serve their personal goals after business. David is a member of the Exit Planning Exchange of Boston and Small Business Association of New England.

Originally from Dexter, ME, David played football at Plymouth State and graduated with a BS in Physical Education. He is a founding member of Friends of Plymouth State Football. David lives in Wayland, MA, with his wife Monica, a graduate of Roger Williams University and Boston College, and their three children.

David is very active in youth sports and other charitable activities in Wayland. He has coached football, softball, and baseball for many years and was the former Vice-President of Wayland Weston Pop Warner Football. David participates annually in the Pan Mass Challenge bike-a-thon, raising money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
