First Doctoral Students Complete Program

PSU doctoral students attend class in Lamson Library & Learning Commons

PSU graduate students Cheryl Baker, June Hammond Rowan and Barbara O’Brien have successfully defended their doctoral dissertations, becoming the first three students to complete the new Doctor of Education (EdD) in Learning, Leadership, and Community.

Baker, Hammond Rowan, and O’Brien are three of the 11 members of the first class, known as a cohort, accepted into the doctoral program at its inception in July 2009. For these candidates, defending their dissertations was the culminating event of the 60-credit program.
