’03-’04 Men’s Basketball Team Honored

2003-04 PSU Men's Basketball

On February 15, Plymouth State Athletics paid tribute to the ’03-’04 men’s basketball team at the annual “Senior Day” event.

The ’03-’04 team, led by former coach John Scheinman, set the University record for most wins in a season, finishing at 24-6.

PSU was one of six teams in the country to receive an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament, and earned a first-round home game. After knocking off Castleton State College in the first round at Foley Gymnasium, the Panthers played hard against fifth-ranked Amherst College before falling to the Lord Jeffs.

Ten years later, the teammates have fond memories of their winning season. Anthony Voglesby ’05, a member of the historic team, said of the honor:
“To have a team like this year’s class honor us, that played with the same passion that we did, was a great feeling. I have had some conversations with them and really appreciated the fact that they knew the history of our team and our program in general. Reaching out to my teammates and I after ten years really says that we never left their minds and we hold a special place in PSU’s heart. Thank you.”
