Plymouth State University and its predecessors could not have succeeded without the support and interaction among the people of Plymouth. Starting with local support to fund a normal school and continuing with local voices raised to keep and help this northernmost college, the relationship between town and gown has been strong, even when it has been strained. Louise Samaha McCormack ’72 and Marcia Schmidt Blaine, retired PSU professors and Plymouth Historical Society members, will explore the first 150 years of the dynamic relationship between Plymouth and PSU in a presentation sponsored by the Plymouth Historical Society.
