Panther Pitch Volunteer Opportunities

Pitch Workshop Coaches

On Campus and Virtual

Advise student teams at Panther Pitch Workshop where they present initial ideas for feedback and early direction. A pre-workshop introduction and follow up Coaching Session takes place virtually. Workshop Coaches cannot volunteer as a Judge or Screening Judge to maintain impartiality.

Dates and Time:

  • Introduction with Panther Pitch Organizers before the Pitch Workshop, approx 20 min
  • Pitch Workshop the week of September 21st, approx 1 hour
  • Coaching Session with a student team between October 5 – November 9, approx 30-40 min

Panther Pitch Screening

Screening Judges make initial evaluations of Panther Pitch submissions. The highest ranked submissions are invited to participate in the Panther Pitch.

Dates and Time:

  • Introductory session with Panther Pitch Organizers, approx 30 min
  • Evaluate Panther Pitch submissions between October 25 – November 4, approx 75-100 submissions

Panther Pitch Judges

Judges evaluate and score pitches presented at the Panther Pitch providing qualitative and quantifiable assessment. Judges attend an introductory session with Pitch organizers to become

familiar with the process and are asked to consider volunteering after the Pitch as Panther Pitch Mentors, though not required.

Date and Time:

  • Introductory session with organizers, approx 1 hour
  • Panther Pitch and Pre-Pitch reception beginning the evening begins on campus November, 18 at 6 p.m., approx 3 hours

Panther Pitch Mentors

On Campus and Virtual

Meet with Teams after the Pitch to provide constructive feedback on their concepts and presentation. This position is well suited for Panther Pitch Judges, however the only requirement is attending/viewing the Panther Pitch.

Date and Time:

  • Introductory session with faculty and organizers
  • Attend the Panther Pitch on November 18 starting at 6 p.m., approx. 3 hours
  • Meet with Panther Pitch teams for a debrief session, approx 1 hour
