Derrick Cram ’04
BA in Music
“Plymouth State was one of the only colleges that I found that offered a music technology option, and music and business courses…plus it had its own radio station,” recalls Derrick Cram ’04. A self-professed “workaholic,” Cram balances his positions at Middlebury College’s Ralph Myhre golf course and the Middlebury Snow Bowl with running his own DJ company, Jam Man Entertainment. Cram’s team of 13 DJs and emcees travel across the Northeast to perform at weddings, nightclubs, parties, and other events…and they’ve played more than 40 Plymouth State alumni weddings over the past 12 years.
Cram took his interest in music technology and dj’ing to a new level when he began editing music videos for distribution to other video DJs around the globe. His work with video distributor, Crooklyn Clan, helped him secure a job touring China last year, with stops in Xian, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Su Zhou, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.
On being named a Top Graduating Senior, Derrick Cram ’04 writes, “It let me know that I had succeeded on many levels during my college career and that people had taken notice of my accomplishments, and my involvement in many diverse activities, organizations, and programs both on and off campus. It confirmed that my time at Plymouth was indeed a great decision and time well spent!”
