Phishing Attempts and Scams
Take precautions when receiving unsolicited emails regarding job opportunities as they may be a Phishing Attempt. Opportunities are vetted by the Career Development Office and are posted on the job board. Please keep the following in mind when receiving emails regarding job opportunities and offers:
- Always look carefully look at the “from” address to be sure it is really from the person who it says it is.
- Think logically about the context of message and use your best judgment before clicking on links or responding.
- If an email sounds “to good to be true,” chances are it is.
Phishing may attempt to get you to trust the sender and carry out an action. Please remain vigilant to protect your own identity.
