How can I apply for the Bootcamp?

Are there prerequisites for the Bootcamp?

 You will need English reading proficiency, basic math and logic skills, and most of all, drive and motivation to learn in an accelerated environment. After admission, students are expected to complete the self-paced Prework module (~20 hours) before the start of the Bootcamp, whose objective is to bring everyone to the same level of technical expertise. 

I don't know anything about cybersecurity, but I'm passionate about it. Can I participate in the Bootcamp?

 Yes! The Bootcamp requires no prior cybersecurity knowledge or experience. While it is not a requirement, a background in technology can be an advantage.

What is the cost of the Bootcamp?

For the 21–22 academic year the cost of the program is $10,000.

Do you offer any funding or scholarships?

How do I complete my payment?

Students may make payment via their myplymouth student portal. We currently accept credit, debit, ACH and payments from a 3rd party vendors. Payment in full is due before classes start.

Do you offer refunds?

Student may receive 100% tuition refund up until two the first two weeks past the term start. After the first two weeks there is not a refund available

How it Works

What is the format of the Bootcamp?

The part-time bootcamp is comprised of 480 hours of best in class content delivered over 24 weeks.  You will meet with your facilitator twice a week for up to 4 hours. Keep in mind, we all learn at different speeds and you may find some topics require more or less time. As such, the platform will be available to you 24/7.

How does the remote version of the Bootcamp work?

In the remote version of the Bootcamp, you will get together with your classmates and facilitator over video conference twice a week.  There is also a messaging platform where classmates and facilitators can communicate.

How will I learn practical cybersecurity skills?

In order for you to practice the skills you learn, we have developed over 60 unique hands-on labs that run in virtual machines. These are safe environments where you will be able to run different operating systems, access various tools without installing them on your computer, and practice confidently without putting your computer at risk. 

What are the minimal computer requirements and what is the recommended setup?

In order to participate effectively in the Bootcamp, you will need a laptop able to run video conferencing. This includes an up-to-date operating system, a stable high-speed internet connection, and a working camera and microphone. For a more detailed list please refer to the Zoom System Requirements. In addition, a second screen is recommended for optimal experience.

How is it possible to learn cybersecurity in only six months?

 We developed the Bootcamp under the principle of “everything you need to know but only what you need to know”. With our accelerated learning methodology – based on military bootcamps – we focus on teaching you the specific skills you will need to start your cybersecurity career. 

After the Bootcamp

What certifications will I get from the program?

The Bootcamp program is designed to align with the United States Government’s National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) framework led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Upon successful completion of the Bootcamp, you will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by Thrive DX SaaS and the Center for Cybersecurity at Plymouth State University. Graduates will also have the background and knowledge to pursue CompTIA Security+ certification.

What types of jobs will I be able to apply for after the Bootcamp?

Our curriculum is aligned with the NICE-NIST Framework and we will prepare you to apply for jobs like Cyber Security Analyst, Cyber Forensics Analyst and Cyber Incident Responder.
