Queer Awareness Month (a.k.a. LGBT History Month) is a month-long annual celebration recognizing the contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals from the past, present, and future. In the United States, Queer Awareness Month is celebrated in October, to include National Coming Out Day on October 11.

National Coming Out Week
National Coming Out Week at PSU is a week-long celebration to increase visibility of people that identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and allies. Programs and events during this week include PSU Pride’s annual bake sale, the Equality Prom, National Coming Out Day, and more. Sponsored by PSU Pride.
Movie: Gun Hill Road
Gun Hill Road is the story of a family in transition. A young man explores his sexuality in an intolerant and judgmental world, and his exploration has an impact on his relationship with his parents and himself. Sponsored by the S.A.G.E. Center as part of the Movies with Meaning series. This is a joint event with Hispanic Heritage Month. Free and open to the public
