During the past ten years it has been my privilege to serve as a faculty member for Plymouth State University’s meteorology program. Besides teaching many courses throughout our curriculum, I have been involved in a large variety of edifying service activities that have ranged from regional to national levels, and I have been lucky to engage in exciting scholarly activities that I expect to continue and build upon in the future.
Please receive my promotion application materials, all of which are included within this portfolio and organized under the tabs above. I am providing personal statements, review and support letters, as well as an assortment of supporting documents and media for each of the three areas of evaluation. As specified in the newest version of the promotion and tenure guidelines, my intention here is to show evidence of continued effective teaching, meaningful community, department, university, discipline-related national service, and an increasing body of quality scholarship. Consistent with promotion to the rank of full professor, I also aim to demonstrate a body of leadership roles and a measure of national recognition within my discipline.
My Curriculum Vitae as well as all Personnel Action Folder application forms are included below. The Evaluations tab includes annual workplans, teaching observations, letters of support for local and national service, and various raw data and summary files related to student evaluations. Separate Teaching, Service and Scholarship tabs contain the corresponding reflective statements and supporting materials. I am also including a Media tab with embedded and linked video, audio and newspaper interviews and appearances. The External Reviews tab contains the scholarship review letters written by qualified outside professionals that were kind enough to review the sample scholarship package that I prepared. These letters were requested directly by my promotion evaluation committee chair, and they were sent directly to him before September 15 and posted here with his assistance.
