About Professor Bashar
Dr. Bashar received his B. S. (Hons.) and M. S. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2007 and 2009 respectively. He has since received another M. S. from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2013, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2016.
Dr. Bashar worked as an Instructor of Informatics during his Ph.D. years in the Center for Advanced Computer Studies (CACS) at UL Lafayette. In his PhD dissertation, Dr. Bashar researched on designing online depository selection based full distributed data dissemination schemes for opportunistic Device-To-Device Networks, which was funded by the National Science Foundation.
Dr. Bashar’s primary research interest includes data dissemination in opportunistic mobile social networks. However, in recent years, he has become interested in information and network security, especially in mobile networks.
Dr. Bashar loves teaching – especially topics related to computer and mobile networks, network security, and computer programming.
