Brad Allen, PhD

 Associate Professor of Business Brad Allen received his B.A. in management from Merrimack College in 1986, an MBA and Masters in Education with distinction from New Hampshire College in 2000 and his Ph.D from Southern New Hampshire University in 2007 with degree in international business and major of international marketing.Professor Allen has extensive experience working in the high tech industry working at industry leading companies such as MCI Telecommunications and Computer Associates. He has published widely in the field of renewable energy marketing and corporate responsibility strategies.  Professor Allen was the Director of Global Sustainability Services at Technology Business Research in Hampton New Hampshire where he created a number of benchmarking methodologies that help evaluate the financial impacts of sustainability initiatives.  In this role he worked with many of the world’s largest information technology including Dell, IBM, and EMC Corporation.

Dr. Allen teaches in both the undergraduate and graduate business programs at Plymouth State University.  His courses include information technology (BU 3240), global marketing (BU 4440), and marketing research techniques (BU 5700) in the MBA program.  His recent research examines the monetization of sustainability and how multinational corporations implement applied corporate responsibility.  Dr. Allen has also been very involved in the Harvard University Summer program for many years where he teaches a graduate level course titles Applied Corporate Responsibility. He also has co-taught multiple sections of International Marketing with Dr. Nick Nugent each summer.  Dr. Allen is an avid traveler and in the last few years has been to Australia, Romania, Prague, Warsaw, Bermuda, Canada and the Caribbean.

Dr. Allen is also the faculty advisor for the Plymouth State University chapter of the American Marketing Association.  Marketing at Plymouth State (MAPS) is the largest student organization in the College of Business Administration with over 75 active business students competing at a national level within the AMA Collegiate Chapter Programs.  MAPS is a year-round organization that provides students with hands on opportunities to do marketing, research, and community service.
