Emma Van Ness (PhD UCLA, MA Middlebury College, BA University of Chicago) is a scholar of modern Italian culture. Her notable research and publications have examined the works of directors such as Antonio Pietrangeli and the novelist Elena Ferrante. Dr. Van Ness previously taught at UCLA and UNH Durham and is currently a Lecturer at Department of Languages and Linguistics as well as at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at PSU.
