Karen Welford teaches Early Intervention in the Early Childhood Studies Program at Plymouth State University and has taught classes in Infant and Toddler Care and Education and Supporting Young Children with Exceptional Learning Needs.
Ms. Welford is the Director of the Family Resource Center of Central New Hampshire, a community resource for all families in the Laconia Region. The Family Resource Center includes an Early Intervention Program, Autism Center, Home Visiting Program, Child Care Resource and Referral Program, parent education, parent-child playgroups and information and referral.
She has served as an Early Intervention Program Director, Director of Early Intervention Field Services for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Director of Early Intervention Professional Development and Quality for New Hampshire, Coordinator of Quality Matters: A Lakes Region Early Childhood Initiative, and Technical Assistance Specialist for the Region I Head Start Quality Initiative. She also was the Director of Family Support for Lakes Region Community Services.
