About Dr. Mattson
Advising Coordinator Lyn Mattson joined the Criminal Justice Department in 2013 with over 35 years in public education including roles such as Associate School Psychologist, Specialist in the Assessment of Intellectual Functioning (S.A.I.F.), School Counselling, and Middle School Teaching. She has served as a coordinator of professional development relative to certification, Safety Committee (including incident command systems and the development of safety protocols and drills), and Leadership Team. Additional background in juvenile residence settings and therapeutic recreation has been a lifelong passion.
Specific interests involve neurodevelopmental teaching, learning styles theory, alternative educational delivery models, child advocacy, and the role of therapeutic recreation models as a complementary therapy in trauma recovery. Memberships in the NH School Counselor Association, the American School Counselor Association and the American Psychological Association further enhance these interests.
