Jane Bjerklie-Barry – International Student Advisor
Jane Bjerklie-Barry has worked at Plymouth State since 2007 as the international student adviser for all undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to her work advising international students on immigration matters and providing campus support and liaison services, she is coordinator of the International Student Orientation programs, is co-chair of International Education Week, and is active with other globally-focused campus programming efforts throughout the year. She serves on the Internationalization Advisory Committee, the President’s Commission on Diversity; she also advises university student organizations, and oversees two scholarship committees. Professional memberships include NAFSA and The World Affairs Council of NH, and is a member of the NH International Education Conference Planning Committee. Jane is not only passionate about advising the global student population at PSU with regulatory expertise, understanding and advocacy, but also in building sustained support of a culturally diverse environment on Plymouth State’s campus. She has an abiding interest in community affairs — her experience includes board positions on the Holderness Central School Board, and the Holderness After School Program Board. Married with two sons, she lives in Holderness, NH
Thomas Janis – International Programs and Exchange Coordinator
In the Fall of 2014, Tom joined Plymouth State University as the International Programs and Exchange Coordinator to manage and coordinate international student exchange programs with PSU’s partner universities around the globe. He also works with various international efforts on-campus including the student leadership program, Global Ambassadors, which helps coordinate international student orientation, International Education Week, and various on-campus international programs. He has over 7 years of experience working in the field of international higher education working with ESL programs, international student and scholar services and education abroad. From 2012 to 2014, he was awarded a Fulbright grant to Turkey where he lived and taught English and teacher training courses at the university level. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Comparative and International Education from Lehigh University. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Tom immigrated with his family to Nazareth, PA.
Deb Regan has been a member of the Global Engagement Office staff at Plymouth State since 1998 and has been working in the field of international education for more than 20 years. She sits on the Advisory Board for CIS – Abroad and International Advisory Council of University Partners for GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and holds membership in NAFSA: Association of International Educators and Forum on Education Abroad. Deb is also a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and has co-authored a book-length guide to career opportunities for Criminal Justice majors published as part of the “Great Job” series by McGraw Hill Publishing Company. She holds a Master of Science degree in Counseling.
