The World in the Classroom project program’s main mission is to bring world cultures into local classrooms and raise global awareness through cross-cultural presentations. It is our hope that having schools around Plymouth participating in this program, students will gain a deeper understanding of other world views. This experience also gives our international students and returned study abroad students an opportunity to share their culture and global experiences with the community.
Our pool of speakers is comprised of international students from Plymouth State University as well as American students from our university who have returned from their recent study abroad programs. The countries represented are diverse. We have speakers for the following cultures/countries: Saudi Arabia, Japan, China, Nepal, Romania, Italy, Tanzania, Venezuela, Slovakia, Ireland, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Taiwan.
