Angel Ekstrom has taught courses in recreation program design, recreation leadership, rock climbing, mountaineering, snow orientation, winter backcountry travel, mountain orientation, paddling, backpacking, adventure skills, ropes facilitator courses, map and compass orienteering, lifeguarding, CPR, standard first aid, and many more, at Colorado Mountain College, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and now at Plymouth State University.

She has also worked for the National Outdoor Leadership School and Colorado Outward Bound School as a field instructor. Ekstrom has worked as a professional ski patroller and was a manager and guide for Snowest Snowmobile Tours in Colorado. She is a certified clinician for the National Youth Sports Coaches Association and is a member of many associations and societies such as Project Adventure, the American Canoe Association, and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
