Jamie Hannon has been involved with outdoor and adventure education since 1981. He has guided and taught in frontcountry and backcountry settings for a range of organizations including the National Outdoor Leadership School, the Chewonki Foundation, and the University of Maine’s MaineBound. He has also worked in a variety of therapeutic settings as a youth counselor and mentor. Just prior to beginning his work for Plymouth State University, Hannon taught diversity and literacy classes in NH public schools using Adventure Learning practices.
At Plymouth State University, Hannon teaches a range of courses focusing on foundations of adventure education and adventure processing and facilitation. He also teaches technical skills such as paddling, skiing, and fitness training for adventure educators. Hannon has presented at numerous conerences around New England and has authored several articles. Hannon began teaching at PSU in August of 2006.
