What attracted you to Plymouth State’s graduate program? Proximity to my home at the time, faculty, love of Plymouth State
Where are you now employed? Queensbury High School, Queensbury, NY
How are you implementing knowledge gained during your program? I have used my reading/writing specialist background to design and implement an academic intervention course for students in grades 9 – 12. Academic Intervention Services (AIS) in English is required for students who do not meet New York state standards. My daily work with students includes reading and writing skill building as well as study-skills and test taking strategies.
What would you say to a student who is considering graduate school? Plymouth is a great place to learn. It is not the largest school with a name-brand type appeal, but a place where professors know you and care about your success. As a graduate student, you are allowed to take charge of your education with hands-on fieldwork experiences, collaboration, and choice. In my own experience, I could not have chosen a better school. Graduate studies at Plymouth allowed me work and go to school, even when I relocated out of state.
