In New Hampshire tobacco use continues to be the leading cause of preventable death with 1,900 lives lost each year. Resulting in $729 Million dollars spent on smoking–related health care costs annually. Colleges and universities across the state are committed in their continued work to prevent college youth from using tobacco products, eliminating exposure to secondhand smoke, and helping those already addicted to the nicotine in tobacco products to quit, and stay quit.
