Program Grants

If you are a faculty or staff person working with students and have identified a programmatic or personal need of students, the Student Support Foundation may be able to give you help with such projects.

  • Funding is only granted for faculty and staff working with Plymouth State University students.
  • The SSF funds programs that help us achieve our mission and goals. See About SSF for details.
  • The SSF can be the first source of funding but cannot be relied upon as a continuing, sole source of funds.
  • Requests are accepted the week before the start of a semester through the week before finals each semester. A student board reviews and decides on all applications and does not convene during Winterim or the summer.
  • Examples of projects that can be funded with a grant:
    • Printing expense for resource information packet for incoming single parents
    • Expense for starting a program for students returning from Iraq and Afghanistan
    • Mileage reimbursement for students delivering items such as Christmas gifts or meals to people in the community
  • Examples of projects that cannot be funded with a grant:
    • Projects designed and implemented by PSU departments or offices that are part of their normal operating budget. This grant is aimed at special initiatives.
    • Projects for which funding can be sought from the Student Senate or has been sought and rejected by the Student Senate
  • To receive help, please fill out the Application for Program Grants (MS Word).  Submit the form to
  • The program advisor, Sam Wisel, contacts the requestors to clarify the needs. The requests are then given to the student board, which considers the requests and comes to a consensus about funding the request.
