A team of PSU business professors placed third in the second annual Timothy Sabol Memorial Golf Tournament on September 9, 2005 at the Amherst (N.H.) Country Club. Faculty members (from left in photo) Bill Benoit, Duncan McDougall, Brad Allen and Craig Zamzow scored a 64 in the tournament that raises scholarship funds for Plymouth State MBA students.
Although he learned in 1998 that he had dilated cardiomyopathy, Timothy R. Sabol refused to be intimidated by his diagnosis and decided to pursue an MBA degree at Plymouth State. He graduated in 2001, having been inducted into the Delta Mu Delta Business National Honor Society. Sabol’s friends and former professors remember him as a man of enormous personality, a strong work ethic, a commitment to higher education, persistence in the face of challenges, and compassion toward family, friends and community members. He died in October 2003 at the age of 43. Tim Sabol’s wife, Sharon, and other family members honor his memory with this golf tournament, which also supports a children’s charity.—Marcia L. Santore
