We hope this issue of Plymouth Magazine finds you enjoying the wonders of a New Hampshire winter.
On page five is a short article on the upcoming renovation of a beloved Plymouth residence hall: Mary Lyon. Many important changes are in the works to modernize the building. In her 90 years of service, Mary Lyon has been the home to countless students from Plymouth Normal School, Plymouth Teachers College, Plymouth State College and Plymouth State University, and we know our alumni have many stories to tell about their time within those walls. So send us your remembrances of all-nighters, ghosts, pillow fights, romance and any other anecdotes that come to mind when you think of Mary Lyon.
Perhaps an even more important home for many Plymouth State students and alumni has always been our connection to the environment of this region. Also in this issue are articles about an important new partnership between PSU and the nearby Hubbard Brook Experimental Watershed, an adventure education course that immerses students in the wilderness, a faculty member studying the American horseshoe crab in its native habitat and a summer session class that traveled to Sweden to learn more about sustainable ecology.
