Dr. Dan Perkins, Conductor

During the spring 2006 semester, the choirs of Plymouth State University will embark on a study of the rich music tradition of Finland. Under the direction of Dr. Dan Perkins, Director of Choral Activities, the project will culminate in a series of concerts featuring the music of Jean Sibelius, Joonas Kokkonen, and Einojuhani Rautavaara. Plymouth State University students will have the opportunity to perform with a large, professional orchestra both at the Silver Center for the Arts on the PSU campus and at beautiful Ste. Marie’s cathedral in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Soloists are Debra Lawrence, soprano from Baltimore, MD, and Steven Small, baritone from Worcestershire, MA. Tickets for the PSU concert can be obtained at the Silver Center for the Arts Box Office (603)535-ARTS. Tickets for the Ste. Marie concert can be purchased at Ted Herbert’s Music in Manchester, at the door, or from any singer.
