The 2006 Educational Theatre Collaborative (ETC) production will be Seussical the Musical. Based on the beloved characters and stories of Dr. Seuss, Seussical the Musical follows the adventures of Horton, an elephant who one day hears voices coming from a speck of dust. He soon discovers that within this tiny speck exists the smallest planet in the universe! With colorful characters, wonderful music and timely messages of trust and tolerance, Seussical the Musical is a production the whole family can enjoy together. Performances will be held in The Silver Center, Plymouth State University, January 25 – 29, 2006.
Auditions are open to University students and employees and members of the community, including children. Approximately 50 performers are needed.
Auditions will take place in the Silver Arts Center (Main Street, Plymouth) at Plymouth State University on the following dates and times:
Sunday, November 6 Preferred date for all children.
1 – 2:15 p.m. third and fourth grade students
2:30 – 4 p.m. fifth and sixth grade students
4:30 – 6:30 p.m. seventh and eighth grade students
6:30 – 8 p.m. high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members
Monday, November 7
5:30 p.m. high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members
7 – 8:15 p.m. grades three through eight
8:30 – 9:30 p.m. high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members
Thursday, November 10
5:30 – 9 p.m. high school and university students, faculty, staff and community members
Sunday, November 13 Callbacks
Children in grades three through eight do not need to prepare anything in advance, and they will be auditioned in groups.
High school and University students and community members must call Brenda Gleich at (603) 535-2803 to schedule an individual audition time. They should bring a piece of prepared music.
Everyone should wear loose, comfortable clothes and shoes for the audition. ETC welcomes people of all ages, both experienced and non-experienced, to audition for this community-wide theatre project.
