‘Bandances!’ by PSU Band and Nashua High School South April 26

Plymouth, N.H.— The Plymouth State University Symphonic Band will present “Bandances!” at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the Silver Center for the Arts.

PSU Professor of Music Gary Corcoran will lead the PSU ensemble in dance-related concert music including “Danse Celestiale” by Robert Sheldon, “Slavonic Dances” by Antonin Dvorak, “Sun Dance” by Frank Ticheli, “Symphonic Dances from West Side Story” by Leonard Bernstein, “Danza Final” by Alberto Ginastera and “Chorale and Shaker Dance” by John Zdechlik.

PSU senior Andrew Walsh from Lincoln R.I., will conduct “Hoe Down” by Aaron Copland.

The Nashua High School South concert band, conducted by PSU alumnus Anthony Courounis Jr., will appear as PSU’s special guests and will open the concert with “Portrait of a Clown” by Frank Ticheli, “An American Elegy” by Frank Ticheli, “The Gathering of the Ranks at Hebron” by David Holsinger, and “His Excellency” by Henry Fillmore.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 or seniors, $3 for youth and free to PSU students with I.D., the Silver Center Box Office (603-535-ARTS).
