PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Bentley College captured 12 of the 16 events Wednesday evening en route to a 165-132 victory over Plymouth State College in a women’s swimming and diving meet at the PSC Natatorium.
The victory improves Bentley to 4-0 on the season, while PSC drops to 3-2.
Nine different Falcons captured individual events in the meet, led by sophomore Emily Cheng (Houston, Tex.) and freshman Angela Groccia (Grafton, Mass.) with two victories apiece. Cheng finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.38) and the 100-yard individual medley (1:07.75), while Groccia was the winner of the 50-yard backstroke (29.79) and the 100-yard free (57.70).
The rest of the Bentley individual winners included sophomore Nikki Skroski (North Haven, Conn.) in the 1000 yard free (1:07.07), freshman Jamie Carrier (Westbrook, Maine) in the 50 breaststroke (35.54), senior Mary Kate Foley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) in the 100 butterfly (1:03.26), senior Jade Li (Cazenovia, N.Y.) in the one-meter diving (219.85), junior Anna Hilbrecht (Riverton, Conn.) in the 100 breast (1:16.59), junior Catherine Lodge (Needham, Mass.) in the 500 free (5:56.85), and junior Sara Yousefi (Stockholm, N.J.) in the 50 fly (29.62).
Plymouth State had three individual winners – junior Andrea Boutilier (Chicopee, Mass.) in the 50 free (27.08), sophomore Scarlette Scarborough (Salem, N.H.) in the 100 back (1:06.98), and sophomore Becky Huntington (Hampstead, N.H.) in the three-meter diving (216.85).
The Panthers are now idle for 10 days before returning to action on Saturday, Jan. 19th, at the PSC Natatorium against Bridgewater State (1 p.m.). Bentley returns home to host the College of Saint Rose this Saturday at 2 p.m.
