Borealis Wind Quintet November 2 at Plymouth State

The Silver Series at Plymouth State University presents the Grammy Award-nominated Borealis Wind Quintet at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at the Silver Center on Main Street in Plymouth.

The Borealis has been acclaimed as one of America’s pre-eminent chamber ensembles, and has been called a “skilled and exceptionally talented chamber group” by The New York Times.

quintetMembers of The Borealis Wind Quintet are Katherine Fink, flute; Tamar Beach Wells, oboe; Kathryn Taylor, clarinet; Dan Culpepper, horn and Wayne Hileman, bassoon. Their programming includes classics, new commissions, opera arias and works for piano and winds.

The Borealis has won numerous awards and prizes, including grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and Chamber Music America. They have toured throughout the United States with notable performances at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Concert Hall, the Frick Museums in New York City and Pittsburgh and Wolf Trap in Virginia.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors, $12 for youth and $5 for PSU students with i.d. at the Silver Center Box Office, (603) 535-ARTS. The concert is presented by The Silver Center and sponsored by MegaPrint.
