Community Service Projects Highlight

April 17th, 2003 by Adam

Plymouth State College students, faculty and staff will join community members in a day of spring cleaning and community projects during the traditional Pride in Service to Community (PSC) Day on Saturday, April 26.

Registration begins at noon in front of the Hartman Union Building (HUB) and projects will begin at 1 p.m. The day wraps up with a celebratory barbecue outside the HUB at
4 p.m.

For information about PSC Day contact Nancy Conklin at the PSC Community Service Learning Center, (603) 535-2639.

Added to the weekend this year, is an event to benefit the March of Dimes. Plymouth State will be host to a March of Dimes WalkAmerica walksite on Sunday, April 27. Last year’s local walk raised more than $10,000.

WalkAmerica registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Plymouth Town Common, and walkers step off at 9 a.m. Sponsor forms for the one-mile fun walk and three-mile run are available at a table at the HUB between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and at the Community Service Learning Center office, also in the HUB.

A related activity on April 25, Blue Jeans for Babies Day, will call attention to the needs of sick infants, a clientele supported by the March of Dimes. Buttons and information about various March of Dimes projects will also be available at the table in the HUB throughout the week. For information about WalkAmerica and Blue Jeans for Babies contact Diane Tillotson at 535-2592.
