More than 50 student dancers from Plymouth State University’s Contemporary Dance Ensemble will perform a combination of modern dance, ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop Friday and Saturday May 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. at the Hanaway Theatre in the Silver Cultural Arts Center. The concert will raise funds for dance scholarships.
The dancers will perform original pieces to music from John Mayer, Josh Groban, Rusted Root, Duke Ellington, Bronx Sound Machine and Cirque du Soleil. Choreographers include faculty members Joan Wiegers, Priscilla Wagner, Patricia Biagini and guest artist Robert Battle, as well as student choreographers Brandi Nylen, Jenny Elliott, Rebecca Love, Melissa De Groot, Liz Stratton, Liana Pyne, Elizabeth Bickford, Heejin Lee, Michelle Michaud, Liz Miller, Bridget Lyons, Stephanie Sirois and Joanne Monty.
Admission to the concert is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and youth and free to PSU students.
