Contemporary Movement Styles and a bit of Humor

September 12th, 2006 by Adam

The annual fall Faculty Dance Concert at Plymouth State University will include contemporary movement styles such as modern, tap and jazz dance, plus a little bit of humor, according to PSU Director of Dance Joan Wiegers. The concert will be presented September 16 at 7 p.m. at the Silver Center for the Arts, Hanaway Theatre.

Choreographers for the program are a mix of PSU alumni, graduate students, faculty and guest choreographers from across New England. While much of the music is recorded, alumnus Paul Bourgelais composed and will perform music for one of the dances. Adjunct faculty member Chehalis Hegner-Melloni will provide videography for another, and Music, Theatre, and Dance Associate Professor Matt Kizer will provide lighting design.

Tickets for the Faculty Dance Concert are $5 at the Silver Center box office, (603) 535-ARTS or 1-800-779-3869. Box office hours are Monday – Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and before performances.
