The Plymouth State College Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Dan Perkins, associate professor of music, will join forces with the 100-voice Handel Society of Dartmouth in a concert of works by Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart at PSC’s Silver Cultural Arts Center at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 17. The choirs will be joined by the Hanover Chamber Orchestra, Melinda O’Neal, conductor; and the Ruggieri Chamber Soloists.

Program highlights include Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, one of Haydn’s six late masses, featuring PSC voice faculty members Eva Nagorka, mezzo soprano and Ryan Turner, tenor; as well as David Ripley, baritone.
The program also includes the Beethoven Triple Concerto for three soloists, performed by Ruggieri Chamber Soloists John Lindsey, violin; Linda Galvan, cello; and Dan Perkins, piano; and several Mozart concert arias and opera overtures.
Perkins says, “this collaboration is a result of several years of planning between the organizations. It is a great professional opportunity for PSC students to sing with another ensemble and work with another conductor. It is also a great honor for our students, testifying to the growth and high caliber of the PSC music department.”

Tickets for the performance are $15 with special rates available for students and seniors. Call the Silver Cultural Arts Center box office at 603-535-ARTS or 1-800-779-3869 for tickets and information.
