PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading goal scorer on the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference
Northeast Division for his efforts in the Lever 2000/Shaw’s Holiday Tournament last weekend, hosted by New England College.
Freshman Garrett Dionne (Clarence Center, N.Y.) was selected ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week. It is the second time this season that Dionne has been
recognized by the ECAC; he was on the Weekly Honor Roll back in November.
A 5’5”, 155-pound forward, Dionne scored a pair of power play goals in a 9-6 loss last Friday to NEC. He now has a team-high four goals, and he shares the team
power play goal lead with three. Dionne is tied for second overall on the team in scoring with six points.
The Panthers, 1-1-0 in the Northeast and 1-8-1 overall, will be looking to stop a seven-game losing skid when they return to action this Saturday (Jan. 6) at
Waterville Valley Ice Arena against conference foe UMass Dartmouth. The game is slated for 7:00 p.m., a change from the original 4:00 p.m. start time.
