PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A Plymouth State College hockey player has earned Eastern College Athletic Conference honors for his performance in a pair of games last week.
Junior forward Eric Ryan (North Chelmsford, MA) was named to the ECAC Weekly Honor Roll for his role in two games last week. A 5’6”, 165-pound co-captain, Ryan registered
an assist in the Panthers’ 3-1 loss to then-unbeaten New Hampshire College on Jan. 19th, then followed up that performance with a hat-trick, including the game-winner, in PSC’s 4-3
win against Tufts. Ryan leads Plymouth State with 16 goals and 26 points and is tied for the team-lead in assists (10). His 16 goals are good enough for second in the ECAC Northeast
and his 26 points put him in a ninth-place tie in the conference.
Ryan also scored a goal and an assist against Massachusetts College on Tuesday (Jan. 26) in a 4-2 Panther, although his weekly honors were only based on the NHC and Tufts
games. He has scored 41 career goals and 43 career assists for 84 points.
PSC is currently tied for fifth place in the conference with New Hampshire College. The Panthers control their own destiny, however, as all six of their remaining games are
against ECAC Northeast teams. Plymouth will have a week off before traveling to Curry College on Saturday, Feb. 5th for a 4:00 p.m. game. The top eight teams in the Northeast will
advance to the post-season tournament.
PANTHER NOTES: The Panthers improved to 10-8-0 (7-4-0 ECAC Northeast) under first-year head coach Mike Bonelli with the win over Mass. College and former PSC head
coach Sal Leale … The Panthers are currently tied for fifth with NHC in the ECAC Northeast, with all six remaining games against ECAC Northeast teams … Four of PSC’s remaining
games are at its home rink (Waterville Valley Ice Arena) where the Panthers are 4-2 this season … Freshman goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH) is tops in the ECAC with a .929
save percentage and is second with a goals allowed average of 2.24.
