PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two Plymouth State College hockey players have earned Eastern College Athletic Conference Weekly Honors for their performance in a
pair of games last week.
Freshman goalie Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH) was named ECAC Rookie of the Week and senior forward Josh Perry (Falmouth, MA) was selected to the ECAC Weekly Honor
A 5’8”, 155-pound goalie, Forgue continued his outstanding freshman campaign with a 52-save effort in a 4-1 loss to New England College last Tuesday (Jan. 5). Forgue gained
his fifth win of the season in the victory over Johnson & Wales Last Saturday (Jan. 9), shutting the door on 29 of 32 shots in the contest. Forgue has established himself as one of the
team’s top goalies; he is third in the league in goals against average (2.09) and is second in saves percentage (.934).
A 6’0”, 170-pound forward, Perry collected three assists in two games last week. One of his assists came on a dish to defensmen Jack Langelier (Marlboro, MA) which proved to
be the game winner in a 4-3 victory over ECAC foe Johnson & Wales. The goal was Langelier’s first of his two-year career, and was Perry’s second assist of the game. Perry now has
three goals and four assists this season.
Plymouth State’s record is now 7-6-0 overall under first-year head coach Mike Bonelli, and 5-3-0 in the ECAC Northeast. The Panthers are tied for fifth in the league with
Wentworth, and have 11 games remaining, eight of which are against ECAC Northeast teams. The top eight teams in the Northeast will advance to the post-season tournament.
The Panthers have back to back games this week, Jan. 16 at Framingham State and Jan. 17, home against Wentworth. Home games at PSC are held at Waterville Valley Ice
