Children from kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to “Be Our Guest” at the annual Children’s Arts Festival presented by the Educational Theatre Collaborative (ETC) Saturday, January 13, 2007, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Silver Center at Plymouth State University.
“The Children’s Arts Festival is a way for ETC to involve every child in the area who so wishes to become a part of ETC, by providing a full day of wonderful arts experiences,” said Artistic Director Trish Lindberg.
The Festival, coordinated by Robb Dimmick, draws its inspiration from this year’s ETC musical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
Children will attend workshops in dance, music, art, acting, and language arts, taught by some of the areas finest artists and educators.
The workshops are:
The Banquet’s All Prepared — Acting with Michael Stoddard
A Change in Me—Dancing with Amanda Whitworth
Something There That Wasn’t There Before—Art with Denise Plante-Renaud
There Must Be More Than This Provincial Life—Language Arts with Cynthia Moon
A Culinary Cabaret—Music with Sharon Knotts.
The cost of the daylong event is $35. Parents may register their children by calling Susan Keefe at (603) 535-2453. Children should bring a bag lunch; snacks will be provided.
ETC is a community arts organization sponsored by Plymouth State University, Friends of the Arts and Plymouth Elementary School.
