Two exhibitions kick of the gallery season at Plymouth State College in September.

The PSC Faculty Show is in the Karl Drerup Art Gallery in the Draper & Maynard Building on North Main Street, September 9 through October 26. Students and patrons have an opportunity to view the rich art production of PSC Art Department faculty members in this celebrated annual exhibition.

Faculty exhibitors are:
Barbara Bragg, Lauren Dadmun,
Terry Downs, Tom Driscoll,
Gayle Fichtinger, Chuck Gibson,
Bill Haust, Mike Hefferman, and
Chehalis Hegner. Also Carol Jowdy,
Jong Kim, Phil Lonergan,
Dave Martin, Shandra McLane,
Annette Mitchell, Michael Roundy,
Susan Tucker, Cynthia Vascak,
Joan Wirth, and Elizabeth D’Amico

Gallery events connected to the Faculty show include lectures on September 23 at 3 p.m. and September 25 at
5 p.m., and Art in Bloom September 17-20, all at the gallery.

Art from the Tents, an exhibition of flat woven textiles, is at the Silver Cultural Arts Center on Main Street in Plymouth September 2-29. The exhibition, curated by Saul Barodofsky of Sun Bow Trading Company and Catherine Amidon, director of exhibitions at PSC, shows a wide range of utilitarian and decorative weave. Amidon says, “More than decorative ornament and pattern, designs allow for interpretation of symbolism and greater understanding of Middle Eastern cultures.”

The Karl Drerup Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, noon – 5 p.m.; Wednesday until 8 p.m., closed holidays and Sundays. Viewing hours at the Silver Cultural Arts Center are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., weekends, noon – 6 p.m and during performances.
