PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Three Plymouth State College football players were recognized by the Freedom Football Conference Monday for their strong individual efforts in
the Panthers’ season-ending loss last Saturday to Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Seniors Shawn Boyle (Bedford, N.H.) and Mike Bicchieri (Londonderry, N.H.) and freshman Brian Francis (Plymouth, N.H.) were named to the FFC Weekly Honor
Roll for the final week of the season. They were honored despite PSC losing to WPI 23-13 to finish the season 0-10.
A 5’11”, 230-pound linebacker and co-captain, Boyle turned in his best game of the season, making seven unassisted tackles, including a season-high three
sacks. Boyle finishes the campaign fourth on the team in tackles with 41, including a team-best 11 stops behind the line of scrimmage.
A 5’8”, 195-pound running back, Bicchieri matched his career high with 120 yards on 27 carries. He also caught three passes for 23 yards, finishing the season
with 990 all-purpose yards (598 rushing, 142 receiving, 250 kick-off returns).
A 5’10”, 175-pound defensive back, Francis really came on toward the end of his freshman campaign. He collected six tackles Saturday, four unassisted, while
making his second interception of the season. Francis finished fifth on the team in tackles with 37.
