HOOKSETT, N.H. – The New Hampshire College and Plymouth State College ice hockey teams battled to a 1-1 overtime tie here Tuesday at Tri-Town Arena. NHC
is now 3-0-1 on the year, while the Panthers go to 1-1-1.
PSC goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH) was the story of the game, as he made 39 saves—including 15 in the third period. NHC entered the game averaging
over five goals a game.
The Panthers opened the scoring with a powerplay goal by senior Mike Zegarelli (Clinton, NY) at 6:09 of the second period. Freshman Garrett Dionne (Clarence
Center, NY) assisted on the goal.
The Penmen answered just 2:15 later when senior Matt Nee (South Boston, MA) netted a powerplay goal. Seniors Tom Fielding (Manchester, NH) and Scott
Proulx (Bedford, NH) picked up the assists.
The Penmen outshot the Panthers 15-4 in the third period, but were unable to solve Forgue. Junior Nick Roussel (Londonderry, NH) turned away 20 shots for the
NHC returns to action Saturday (11/25) when it takes on cross-town rival Saint Anselm College in opening round action of the PAL Cup. PSC is idle until next
Tuesday (11/28) when it hosts New England College.
