Members of the PSC community will be offered an opportunity to participate in this year’s Lakes Region United Way campaign during the month of December. According to PR Director Retha Fielding, many colleges and universities offer such an opportunity to the employees annually, but this is a first effort for PSC.

A number of the agencies served by the Lakes Region UW are housed at Plymouth’s Whole Village Family Resource Center. Lakes Region Director Bruce Van Derven says, “In and around Plymouth, we often hear of ‘agencies’ and ‘programs’ doing the difficult job to taking care of those in need. Make no mistake about it, it’s people like you and me doing the work. People helping people. Every day at the Headstart program at Whole Village, or the Pemi-Bridge House for those in need of shelter; or at camp programs like Circle or Mayhew for ‘at risk youth. There’s nobody else to stitch our safety net — just us. Together, we can make a huge difference in people’s lives…when we give a little of ourselves. Our gifts can have a lasting impression on someone in need. Thank you for caring.”

Information about the PSC United Way campaign will be in the mail soon. Contribution may be made through December 20, and full-time employees may elect payroll deduction.
