Dear Graduating Class of 2006,
Graduate commencement is the day when Plymouth State University and the trustees of the University System of New Hampshire honor you for your completion of your graduate degree. Please plan to join us to celebrate with classmates, faculty and friends. The ceremony takes place inside the Field House, and begins with a continental breakfast for you and your guests from 8:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m., all candidates will receive final instructions before lining up for the ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m., ending at about noon. A Scottish bagpiper will lead the procession of faculty, honored guests and degree candidates. This year will mark the retirement of President Donald P. Wharton, who presides over the ceremony. Bill Marston, former trustee of the University of New Hampshire and a well-known educational leader, will be the graduation speaker. This is a day set aside for you, so make time to do this for yourself and your family and friends. Congratulations, and I look forward to seeing you walk across the stage on graduation day.
