PLYMOUTH, N.H. – An undefeated week for one of the top players on the Plymouth State College women’s tennis team ended with her selection to the Little East Conference Weekly Honor Roll.
Junior Jamie Hazard (Foster, R.I.), who has been playing both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for PSC the past two weeks, earns her first LEC weekly honor. She is in her first year on the Panther squad after transferring from the University of New Hampshire.
Hazard completed a 4-0 record last week as PSC won its only two outings, an 8-1 LEC verdict over Southern Maine and a 6-3 LEC decision over UMass Boston. Foster defeated both opponents at No. 1 singles to improve her record to 6-1 this season. She teamed with teammate Katie Olsen (Reading, Mass.) to win both matches at No. 1 doubles. Hazard is now 5-2 in doubles this season.
Plymouth State continues to enjoy one of the best seasons in recent history. The Panthers, which haven’t had a winning season the last five years, are 6-1 overall, and have already won the most matches in a season since the 1995 team finished 7-4.
