Homecoming 2004

Alumni, students and members of the Plymouth State University
community will join together for the 36th annual Homecoming,
I’ve Had the Time of my Life October 1-3.
The weekend celebration encourages participants of all ages to
take part in favorite gatherings such as a carnival on campus,
the Foley 5K Foot Race, Octoberfest Celebration, home athletic
competitions and the 24th Annual Dearborn Golf Classic.

This year’s Homecoming features a new daylong
academic program, “Alumni College” on Friday, October
The curriculum presents alumni, non-alumni, and
current students opportunities for both learning and networking.

Friday night activities include an Alumni Poetry
in the Hartman Union Building (HUB), Alumni
Pub Night
in the Boiler Room Lounge at the Common Man
Inn, and Friday Night at the Movies
on the Alumni Green, showing Dirty Dancing and its 2004
sequel, Havana Nights, and a Music,Theatre, and Dance
Department production, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.

Saturday opens with registration from 9 a.m. – 2
p.m. at the HUB Pawsway. During the day, participants can enjoy a
hike on Rattlesnake Mountain with Vice President
Richard Hage, academic open houses, the Foley
Foot Race
, a carnival outside the HUB,
frisbee golf, wiffleball homerun derby, campus tours,
and a radio station (WPCR) personnel reunion, among
many other activities. Sports competitions include football
versus Western Connecticut State University
and women’s
soccer versus Eastern Connecticut State University.

Saturday night festivities open with Octoberfest,
formerly Afterglow, held in Center Lodge for those 21 and over.
Afterward, John Heffron, winner of the television program
“Last Comic Standing” will appear in the HUB Courtroom,
with former contestant Corey Holcomb
. Saturday night
also features a Reunion Dinner for the classes
of 1974, 1979, 1984, 1994 and 1999 and a barbecue at the
Plymouth Fire Hous
e on Highland Street, hosted by
members of the Fire Department. Prior to the PFD dinner, a panel
of local firefighters, current PSU student firefighter and guest
speakers will talk about how Plymouth State student firefighters
have helped the Plymouth community.

Sunday events feature the 24th Annual Dearborn Golf
Classic at Owl’s Nest Golf Club
and women’s
tennis versus Castleton State College

Alcohol is prohibited on campus property, except as provided by
PSU for designated programs. Participants may not bring
alcohol or pets to events on campus,
and tailgating is
not allowed.
